Profile

Twenty-five years at the intersection of
strategy, media and power

I am not a generalist. I do one thing precisely: help organisations and leaders think clearly, communicate with authority, and act decisively in complex environments.

My career began in sales and marketing at ICICI Bank and Bombay Dyeing, building distribution networks from the ground up. I then joined Radio Mirchi, where I conceived and built the non-traditional revenue stream known as Mirchi Activation.

More than a decade at The Times of India Group (BCCL) as National Brand Head shaped my understanding of media and narrative at scale. During this period I curated landmark national campaigns including Lead India and Teach India, which defined my understanding of mass communication, civic narrative and national-level engagement.

Since leaving BCCL, I have built ventures, worked on national political campaigns, and engaged seriously with the AI transformation. I currently serve as CEO of Billion Hopes AI, focused on AI-led solutions for political campaigns, strategic communications and healthcare. I am also Managing Partner at Redcurrant IT and Mediacom Worldwide LLP.

Work

What I do

My work falls into three interlocking areas, each grounded in the same discipline: the ability to understand complex systems, identify what matters, and communicate it with precision and force.

01

Strategy and Communication Consulting

I design communication strategies, narrative frameworks and positioning architectures for organisations that need to be understood and believed. From corporate brands to political entities to early-stage ventures, I bring clarity to complexity and authority to ambiguous positioning.

Narrative Design. Communication Architecture. Brand Positioning.
02

National Campaigns and Political Advisory

Political campaigns are the most demanding communication environments in existence. I have worked at the national level on strategy, messaging, voter communication and media direction. I understand the anatomy of Indian elections and the language that moves electorates. Honest counsel, grounded in ground intelligence.

Campaign Strategy. Political Messaging. Election Intelligence.
03

India Entry: Opportunity and Network

For global ventures entering India, I offer a specific and clearly bounded value: primary analysis of the opportunity, and access to the right people. I map the landscape, identify viable business partners, and open doors to government and industry networks built over two and a half decades. Intelligence and relationships that precede everything else.

Opportunity Analysis. Partner Identification. Government Networks.
04

Artificial Intelligence: Strategy and Application

As CEO of Billion Hopes AI, I work on AI-led solutions for political campaigns, strategic communications and healthcare. I bring a strategist's perspective to AI adoption, with a particular focus on how AI reshapes political behaviour, communication strategy and business models. A frontier I am building on, not observing.

AI Strategy. Political AI. Billion Hopes AI.
05

Mentorship and Speaking

I work with entrepreneurs, marketing professionals and young leaders who need experience-backed rigour rather than generic motivation. I speak at national forums on strategy, political communication, media and the intersection of technology and governance. Sessions are dense with frameworks, analysis and direct feedback.

Executive Coaching. Keynote Speaking. Institutional Engagement.
06

Entrepreneurial Ventures

I build, not just advise. Billion Hopes AI focuses on AI-led political and communications solutions. Redcurrant IT and Mediacom Worldwide LLP delivers outsourced marketing and scale-up programmes for SMEs across Tier II India. These are active ventures, not advisory projects.

Political Track Record

In the room where
decisions are made

Political consulting in India requires rare co-existence: domain knowledge, practitioner's instinct, accurate ground reading, and the discipline to separate analysis from advocacy.

  • 2024 / National

Lok Sabha Elections 2024 / Indian National Congress

Core strategist for national-level campaign planning and narrative development. Message calibration, digital direction, strategic coordination across geographies. Closely associated with Bharat Jodo Yatra 1.0 and Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra 2.0.

  • 2023 to 2024

Inclusive Minds / Congress Think Tank

Issue-based positioning, campaign themes and sentiment-based strategy inputs for the official Congress think tank.

  • 2022 / Goa

    Goa Assembly Elections

On-ground strategic planning and political intelligence, aligning campaign tone with Goa's historically complex political landscape.

  • 2021 / Kerala

    Kerala Assembly Elections

Messaging and social media framework advisory for local leadership during the assembly polls.

  • BCCL Era

Lead India and Teach India / Times of India Group

Curated two of India's most significant national civic campaigns, building deep understanding of mass narrative and national mobilisation at scale.

Political intelligence advisor and narrative strategist. I design lean, high-impact campaign models and build lasting reputations for leaders and ideas. Work guided by honesty of analysis and respect for democratic institutions.

India

For global ventures
looking at India

  • Primary opportunity analysis across sectors, drawing on current market intelligence and network-level insight.
  • Identification of the right Indian business partner matched to your sector, scale and operating culture.
  • Access to government and industry networks at national and state level, built over two and a half decades.
  • Introductions and facilitation with regulatory advisors, legal specialists, financial consultants and sector experts.
  • A candid read on political and policy risk grounded in direct knowledge of how policy is made and enforced in India.

Scope clarity

I do not provide financial modelling, regulatory compliance frameworks or detailed entry strategy documents. Those require dedicated specialists. My role is to make sure you are looking in the right direction, talking to the right people, and walking through the right doors. Everything else follows from that.

India is a high-opportunity, high-complexity market. The opportunities are real. So are the barriers. Getting in right requires more than capital and ambition.

Sectors where policy tailwinds, demographic demand and my network depth align:

Education and EdTech Health and Wellness Clean Energy Infrastructure E-commerce Media and Creator Economy Political Technology AI and Deep Tech Semiconductors

India does not need foreign capital to survive. But the world needs India to grow. Invest with accurate knowledge, respect for context, and a long-term horizon. Short-cuts in India produce short outcomes.

Thinking

Areas of deep
intellectual engagement

Indian Politics and Political Economy

The grammar of Indian elections

How political language, ground conditions, voter sentiment and narrative architecture interact in India's extraordinary democratic exercise. Why data alone never tells the complete story.

The media-politics complex in the digital age

How the collapse of traditional media gatekeeping has redrawn the rules of political narrative in India, and the consequences for democratic discourse and institutional trust.

State-level India as the real arena of power

Why national headlines consistently misread where political decisions are made, and how understanding state-level dynamics produces superior analysis.

Aspirational India and political realignment

How rising economic expectations in Tier II and Tier III India are producing political behaviours that confound traditional parties and Western analytical frameworks.

Geopolitics, Technology and the Global Order

India's strategic posture in a multipolar world

Why India's foreign policy is one of the most sophisticated and deliberately ambiguous in the world today, and what that means for global businesses and investors.

Semiconductors as geopolitical instruments

India's semiconductor push is not just industrial policy. It is a statement about sovereignty, strategic alignment and national narrative in a fractured world.

AI and the transformation of political power

How AI-driven communication is rewriting the rules of influence, persuasion and democratic legitimacy. The intersection of AI and political consulting is where I invest significant time.

Narrative as strategic infrastructure

The organisations and nations that win over the next decade will control not just resources, but the stories told about those resources. Narrative is not communication. It is strategy.

The most dangerous thing in strategy is clarity that arrives too late. The second most dangerous is confidence that arrives too early.

Silicon Sovereignty: India's Semiconductor Gamble in a Fractured World

In a world where chips dictate power, semiconductors have become the new currency of sovereignty. India's semiconductor saga is ambitious in intent, fragmented in execution, and politically charged in tone. The real opportunity lies in positioning India as a hub of resilient innovation where design, talent and diplomacy converge.

Why Political Campaigns Fail: Lessons from the Ground

Most campaigns fail not because of bad intentions or inadequate resources. They fail because of the gap between what strategists believe about voters and what voters actually think, feel and decide. Ground intelligence, honest analysis and message discipline are not optional extras. They are the campaign.

Operating Principles

How I operate

I

Honesty

I tell clients what I see, not what they want to hear. Flattery is not a service. Honest counsel is the only basis on which useful work can be built.

II

Scope Clarity

I am precise about what I do and do not offer. Overselling is a form of dishonesty, and it always produces bad outcomes for the client. Clarity on scope is a prerequisite of good work.

III

Public Interest

Political work carries a responsibility beyond the client. I will not design strategies that harm public discourse, manipulate electorates through misinformation, or undermine democratic institutions.

IV

Long-Term Alignment

Short-term wins that compromise long-term credibility are not wins. All counsel is guided by durability and sustainable outcomes, not by the next news cycle or the next quarter.

If you have a problem that requires strategic clarity, political intelligence, or honest counsel on India, this is a worthwhile conversation to have. Open to meaningful engagements.

A note on engagement

Every engagement is selective. The focus is on clarity of thought, depth of understanding, and alignment of intent. If you are looking for transactional work, there are many firms for that. If you are looking for a genuine thinking partner with two and a half decades of hard-earned context, reach out directly.
